The Workshop

A workshop is a space where work is being done. There are tools and colleagues, projects and ideas, duties and responsibilities. There may be a bin of rejected materials and half-finished work sits because it does not meet the standard.

Very few items are abandoned to the trash bin because they represent time and resources. Every item is worked on until it is capable of meeting the minimum criteria for use.

Waste increases when the work becomes rushed.

Mistakes increase when the workers are coerced.

The primary assumption within the workshop is, “Anything worth doing, is worth doing right.” Even if it takes twice as long.
